1️⃣ Bushozan Onsen, where to end your day

One of the most anticipated momoents of a trip to Japan, is soaking in a warm onsen at the end of the day.

While traveling in Takamatsu, I wanted to find a quiet onsen that wasn’t too crowded.

And that’s exactly what I found at Bushozan Onsen.

I took the Kotoden train through a quiet residential neighborhood to reach this small station.

It was about a 10-minute walk from the station.

After walking through the unassuming entrance, I was greeted by a warm mist of water.

There weren’t many tourists here, as it’s a hot spring visited by locals/

As a result, the onsen was filled with a quite, relaxing atmosphere.

As I soaked in the hot water, I felt my fatigue from the entire trip melt away.

But it doesn’t end there.

When you step out into the open-air bath, the atmosphere is completely different.

The air is cool outside, but the hot water envelops you.

I felt like I was in a little Japanese paradise.

Gazing at the night sky from the open-air bath, We stayed there for a long time without saying a word.


2️⃣ Bushozan Onsen, a little something extra

Location : Takamatsu City, Kagawa prefecture, Japan (10 min. walk from Kotoden Bushozan station)

Admission Fee : Adult 700 yen / Child 350 yen

Parking : Free parking available


If the hot springs aren’t enough,

You can also take advantage of the Bushozan Onsen Pass

This pass includes onsen admission + towel + unlimited subway rides.

for a total of 1,300 yen.

The onsen alone would cost 700yen, a round-trip subway fare of 720 yen, and a towel.

1,620 yen, but the pass saves you 320 yen.

It’s definitely recommended if you plan to explore more of Takamatsu city!

Available at major stations such as Takamatsu Chit-ko station, Kawaramachi Station, etc.

Provide a dated fan when paying in cash > Present it at the onsen & subway stations

If you want to enjoy the hot springs and travel to other attractions in Takamatsu without breaking the bank the Bushozan Onsen Pass is a great option.

With the onsen pass, you’ll be able to move around freely, and gives you the chance to see some of Takamatsu’s unique neighborhoods.


3️⃣ The perfect way to end a day at Bushozan Onsen

There’s one thing you should definitely do after visiting an onsen.

That is, a warm cup of tea after the onsen.

There is a small cafe area in the onsen.

It’s a quiet place to get out of the hot spring and cool down with a cup of hot tea.

This is the moment that lingers in the memory of the hot spring.
